Yesterday, the 5th of May, started the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) for 2019 in Houston. The conference and exhibition gathers energy professionals from all over the world. For the first time do Momentum Technologies participate at OTC, bringing our latest innovation the “Momentum HHS” to the market – expanding the possibilities both for us and the market.
Momentum HHS – Hydro Hook Support, is an innovative subsea vibration damper utilizing a novel damping technique. It is a universal vibration damper, suitable for many types of vibration problems subsea. Typical applications, but not limited to, are damping of
- Flow Induced Vibration (FIV) in flexible pipes like flex loops
- Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV) in jumpers, transport pipes and risers
The Momentum HHS requires no foundation, and can be installed on pipe spans, it is a passive device, robust with minimum number of parts and it can be retro-fitted to existing installations enabling life-time extentions.
The Momentum HHS together with the Momentum TMD – a high frequency tuned mass damper is shown and demonstrated at the Momentum stand in the Innovation park included in the Norwegian Pavillion of OTC (booth 4438). Håvard Johnsen, CEO and Even Lund, R&D Manager, are representing Momentum Technologies at the stand.
We are looking forward to interesting days, getting an experience richer and hopefully bringing new possibilites back home.
